Agule Archdeaconry.
The first missionaries came to Agule in 1918 from Ngora through lake Nyaguco, a branch of L.Kyoga.The first grass thatched Church was constructed at Morukokume. It was later transferred to the current site in the 1950’s on a piece of land donated by the father of Mr.Robert Oonyu who is the current Head of laity of Agule Parish. Agule kept on
growing to the Level of a rural deanery by 1963 under the rev. Stanley Okwerede.
In 2016, the Rt.Rev. Samuel G.B. Egesa, the 3rd Bishop of Bukedi Pronounced Agule zone as an Archdeaconry.
It was until 2022 January
1st that Agule Archdeaconry received its first Archdeacon having been curved out of Pallisa Archdeaconry.
